We are first time horse owners so this experience was crucial. During night checks we realized that one of our horses had somehow(still a mystery) sliced all along the back of his sheath open. We called around 9pm and got ahold of someone immediately, they said the on-call vet would call us back shortly and she did! I was able to text her pictures and she determined that since it didn't look to need emergent response someone would be out the very next day to check him out. Thank you Dr. Ellie and team for making my first emergency/NON emergency a calm experience.

Such an unfortunate situation- coming from someone who works in vet med, I’m genuinely concerned at the lack of communication between clinic and client. During My first new client/ new patient exam they were almost an hour late, no communication, I had to reach out to ensure they were coming. I had previously requested an estimate and was provided with one, but upon checking out the estimate prices and actual prices were different so I couldn’t plan accordingly. The whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth, but I wanted to give them another chance. When attempting to get medication for my senior mare I was met with push back when trying to get a written script so I could order it through my work pharmacy. Current day- I’ve reached out via email twice within the last week and have not heard anything back, I’ve called and got put on hold just to get hung up on. I chose to establish care at a different hospital and went to request records and they sent it directly to them and still did not respond to me. Overall I’m genuinely upset at the lack of support and communication from this clinic.

Sadly not had to lay my mare to rest yesterday. Tina and my other horses, have been under the care of Dr. Paul Duff for over 5 years. Columbia Equine Vets have cared for our horses for over 25 years. Every vet from Columbia has been excellent. However, Dr Duff has been extraordinary. He is knowledgeable, communicative, gentle, compassionate, talented and has such a rapport with horses. He made my worse day better by reassuring me that we were doing the right thing at the right time. As my mare dropped down, her head was in Paul’s lap. He stroked her and talked calmly to her until her last breath. I love that man! Thank you Dr. Paul
